Elkhart Man Sentenced To Over 11 Years In Prison For Distributing Meth

SOUTH BEND — An Elkhart man will serve over 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.

Kenneth Thomas, 43, Elkhart, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty on April 30, to 140 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

According to documents in the case, in February and March 2023, Thomas sold meth multiple times in the South Bend area. During the approximate two-week period, Thomas distributed a total of two pounds of meth.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, including the North Central Laboratory, with assistance from the Elkhart County Interdiction and Covert Enforcement Unit and the South Bend Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Katelan McKenzie Doyle.
