UPDATE: Warsaw Man Dies After Being Injured In US 30 Wreck

WARSAW — A Warsaw man passed away several days after being injured in a US 30 wreck.

According to information from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Aleman, 93, passed away on Sunday, April 28, due to having internal injuries from the wreck which occurred April 24. It happened at 8:49 a.m. at the intersection of CR 325E on the edge of Warsaw.

According to the KCSO report, Aleman’s vehicle, a 2010 Toyota RAV4, failed to yield the right of way to a 2014 Toyota Highlander driven by Richard Vonesh, 79, Fort Wayne. Aleman’s vehicle was traveling on CR 325E.

Vonesh attempted to change lanes on US 30 to avoid a crash, but Aleman’s vehicle continued on, hitting Vonesh’s vehicle.

Aleman and his passenger Mary J. Aleman, 84, Warsaw, were taken by ambulance to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw for treatment. Mary had a fracture/dislocation.

Vonesh and his passenger Naomi L. Vonesh, 78, Fort Wayne, were taken to LKH for further evaluation. Richard had a chest bruise and Naomi a scrape on her hip/upper leg.

Damage is estimated up to $25,000.
