WARSAW — The community came together for an engaging “Meet the Candidate” event on Wednesday, May 1, hosted by Nathan Scherer, bringing together county residents in a dialogue about the county’s future. The event, held at the Kosciusko County 4-H Fairgrounds, was designed to foster open communication and gather insights into the concerns and aspirations of the public.
“We wanted to have an event that was open to the public so we could talk with the people and understand what their concerns are for the county,” said Scherer, emphasizing the importance of grassroots engagement in shaping community policies and priorities.
The event drew an inquisitive crowd, eager to enjoy great BBQ and participate in productive conversations about local issues. Attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with Scherer, discussing a wide range of topics affecting the county and sharing their perspectives.
In addition to promoting civic engagement, the event also served a philanthropic purpose. Through generous contributions from attendees and supporters, the event raised over $1,000 for local Youth Ag programs, demonstrating a commitment to investing in the future of agriculture and youth development in the community.
“This was a win-win event; anytime you can engage with the public and help a local nonprofit is a good day,” remarked Scherer, highlighting the positive outcomes of bringing people together for meaningful conversations and supporting important community initiatives.
Scherer’s dedication to community engagement and supporting local causes was evident throughout the event, reflecting a vision for collaborative leadership and positive change in the county.
