WARSAW — Turn-out for the 2024 Presidential primary election was lower than 2022 primary election, the last comparable figures available to Kosciusko County Clerk of the Court Ann Torpy. Torpy noted the poll pads were indicating an 18% turnout county-wide. However, the turnout will not truly be known until all votes are tabulated.

The 2022 primary turnout was at 21%, a lot busier than anticipated. The last presidential election was during COVID.

The first vote center to arrive at the Justice Building was the Shrine Building. Officials from that vote center arrived around 6:45 p.m.

Jennifer Whitaker, inspector, stated the turnout was steady and a lot busier than she had expected. “Everyone seemed to like the new machines. It was a lot easier toopen up, shut down and tear down.”
