WARSAW — The Society for Human Resources Management recently awarded the Kosciusko Human Resources Association its Excel Gold Award for the group’s accomplishments in 2023.
The Excel Award is given to state councils and chapters to recognize major accomplishments, strategic activities and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources.
“SHRM’s impact on the world of work is due to the dedication and efforts of our chapters and state councils like KHRA,” said Johnny C. Taylor Jr., president and chief executive officer of SHRM. “The Gold Excel Award is not only a celebration of the great work done by KHRA, it’s also recognition of their focus and determination … to make great workplaces. Their HR leadership is exemplary.”
The Excel Award can be earned at four levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Each level has a prescribed set of requirements and accomplishments that must be met. The Kosciusko Human Resources Association will receive recognition in SHRM publications and at conferences, a logo to display on its website and information to share with its members about the significance of the award.
The Kosciusko Human Resources Association focuses on community engagement and professional development and showcased its commitment through these 2023 initiatives. Hosting a dual membership event, the chapter gathered stakeholders to address local workforce needs, resulting in strategic direction for the next two to three years and securing more than $10,000 in sponsorship for future endeavors. Additionally, partnerships with the local jail program facilitated mock interviews, aiding in the reintegration of individuals into the workforce. Efforts also included a daylong conference and a fall appreciation event.
