WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake man was recently arrested for allegedly battering and choking a man.
Isaiah Lee Tessereau, 23, 413 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, is charged with battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, intimidation, and strangulation, all level 6 felonies; and battery resulting in bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor.
On April 30, a Winona Lake Police officer responded to a physical fight involving two men at a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw a man with scratches on his face and upper body, and a bloody nose.
According to court documents, the man said Tessereau was upset with him and attacked him. Tessereau allegedly punched the man’s face, choked him to the point he had difficulty breathing, and threatened to stab him.
Tessereau told the officer he was upset with the man and the man pushed him. He said a fight ensued and that he punched the man in the face and kicked his face and chest. Tessereau admitted to putting the man in a chokehold and made a comment about obtaining a knife. The officer noticed several small scratches on Tessereau’s arm and face.
A woman who was on the phone with the man at the time of the altercation said she heard Tessereau make a comment about a knife and heard the sounds of a physical fight.
Tessereau was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 30.
