WARSAW — A Warsaw man with three prior OWI convictions was arrested for allegedly driving a vehicle while under the influence.

Kristopher Dale King, 39, 1606 Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a level 6 felony; and operating while intoxicated – endangerment, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 25, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a single-vehicle accident in Warsaw. There were two occupants in the vehicle, including King, who was driving at the time.

According to court documents, the deputy learned King’s driving status was listed as a habitual traffic violator. A witness said she heard the vehicle accident and saw King pushing the vehicle away from a tree.

King was exhibiting physical signs of intoxication at the scene and failed several field sobriety tests. He tested 0.06% BrAC on a portable breath test. Certified chemical test results are pending.

King was previously convicted of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator in December 2018, in Kosciusko County. He has two administrative suspensions as an HTV and three prior OWI convictions.

King has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
