WARSAW — Attendees at Main Street Warsaw’s May Third Friday and the first day of the KCV Cycling Club’s Fat & Skinny Tire Fest enjoyed races, a BMX show and more.
There were music, food trucks and kids’ activities in downtown Warsaw, plus many bicycle-related events on Friday, May 17.
Fat & Skinny started the evening at Trailhouse Village Bicycles in Winona Lake, with an opening ceremony at which KCV President Mike Cusick, Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose, Winona Lake Town Manager Craig Allebach, K21 Health Foundation’s Jennifer Stewart and Bicycle Indiana Executive Director Margaret Barawskas spoke.
People of all ages and skill levels then rode bikes to downtown Warsaw, with Cusick estimating at least 500 took part.
Riders with Bill Nitschke’s Wonder Wheels showed off their skills in a BMX show and the races of the Zimmer Biomet Downtown Criterium circled the Kosciusko County Courthouse and the rest of downtown.
Adam and Danielle Lock and their three kids were part of the many participants in KCV Cycling Club’s Fat & Skinny Tire Fest’s community mass ride on Friday night, May 17. The ride and an opening ceremony in Winona Lake kicked off the weekend festival. People then made their way to downtown Warsaw where events occurred in conjunction with Main Street Warsaw’s Third Friday.
