WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau is celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week from Sunday, May 19, through Saturday, May 25.
Established in 1983, National Travel & Tourism Week is an annual tradition to celebrate the U.S. travel community and travel’s essential role in stimulating economic growth, cultivating vibrant communities, creating quality job opportunities, inspiring new businesses and elevating the quality of life for Americans every day.
According to the 2022 Tourism Economic Impact Report conducted through Certec Inc., Kosciusko County experienced an increase in visitors of 5.8%, welcoming 1,671,894 visitors total. These visitors spent $272 million and generated 2,548 jobs in Kosciusko County. With all the convention and visitors bureau’s marketing efforts combined, they reached 1,331,912 potential visitors last year.
Some ways residents and visitors alike can celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week in Kosciusko County include viewing the Kosciusko County Visitor Guide online or picking up a print copy. The digital guide can be found on visitor bureau’s website at visitkosciuskocounty.org/digital-guides.
The visitors bureau has also created six free digital passports called the Engage Kosciusko Passports, which are available on its website at visitkosciuskocounty.org/engage-kosciusko-experience-passes. Thee passports offer entry into drawings for Kosciusko Cash and other prizes.
In addition, the convention and visitors bureau has a series of Outdoor Spaces brochures and maps with lists of all the outdoor recreation opportunities available in Kosciusko County, including Trail Spaces, Nature Spaces, Blue Spaces, Play Spaces and Art Spaces.
