Author Brenda Lazzaro Yoder To Speak At LaGrange County Community Foundation’s Annual Celebration

LAGRANGE —  Author Brenda Lazzaro Yoder will speak at the LaGrange County Community Foundation’s Annual Celebration on 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the Farmstead Inn and Conference Center in Shipshewana.

The Annual Celebration is a free invitation to join like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference and celebrating the work of philanthropy in LaGrange County.

Centered around “Building Community,” the special event will feature dinner from Fireside Craft Burger & Brews, a fireside chat nonprofit panel, keynote address and the presentation of the Community Foundation’s 15th annual Heart of Gold Award.

Brenda Lazzaro Yoder, of Shipshewana, will share an inspiring keynote address. Yoder is a licensed mental health counselor, elementary school counselor, speaker, and author of “Uncomplicated: Simple Secrets to a Compelling Life,” highlighting principles lived out in our local community.

With her wealth of experience and knowledge, Yoder will share valuable insights, weaving stories of service in LaGrange County that will motivate and empower guests to join others in the philanthropic spirit.

Nonprofit organizations Meals of Hope, Mongo Community Development Association, The Garage and LaGrange County Arts will share their experiences with building community during the panel.

The evening will conclude with the presentation of the Heart of Gold Award, honoring LaGrange County individuals making a positive difference through volunteerism.

Nominees for the 15th annual Heart of Gold award include Kent Andrews, Brett Bateman, Madison Bateman, Laura Hartman, David Hostetler, Jenny Landez, Andy Linder, Jean Martin and Karen Reinking. The recipient of the award will receive the honor of directing a $1,000 grant to the LaGrange County charity of their choice.

The Annual Celebration is a unique opportunity to connect with others in LaGrange County who share a passion for making a difference and celebrate the power of service.
