WARSAW — A Warsaw man with two prior domestic battery convictions was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman.

Nicky Lee Blair, 44, 340 E. Levi Lee Road Lot 202, Warsaw, is charged with battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 14, an individual requested a welfare check on a woman at a Warsaw residence. Upon arrival at the scene, Warsaw Police officers spoke with Blair, who allowed them inside the residence.

According to court documents, officers found a woman with dark bruising and swelling on the left side of her face, and injuries around her eye, mouth, temple, and cheek. She said Blair was the person who injured her.

The woman told officers Blair battered her on May 13. She attempted to block a punch from Blair with her left arm and hand, and her left hand hit her face, which caused bruising around her eye.

Officers also noticed bruises on the woman’s elbow, arms, ear, neck, hands, and legs.

Blair said he got upset and blacked out, but remembered hitting the woman’s face several times with the back of his hand. He also indicated that he recently completed anger management.

Blair has prior convictions for domestic battery and intimidation in Kosciusko County.

Blair was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on May 14.
