WINONA LAKE — Art helps improve communities, said The Village at Winona Managing Director Nick Hauck.

He noted artists will first come in to revitalize areas, leading to restaurants and retail establishments moving in afterward.

The Village’s annual event celebrating all things art-related, the Village Art Fair, returns for the 24th year on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2.

It features almost 70 artists selling paintings, jewelry, sculptures, clay pieces and more. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There will be a self-service kids’ art station and food vendors. Attendees may also enjoy live music, with that scheduled as follows: Scott Workman from 10-11:15 a.m. Saturday; the Symphony of the Lakes’ string quartet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday; the Winona Acoustic Society from 1-3 p.m. Saturday; Ivory Moss from 3-5 p.m. Saturday; Joe Justice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday; and Marc Vosler from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Hauck referenced the value of continuing to promote art in the community, including through the fair. He also noted the fair has been named one of the top 100 art fairs in the country again by Sunshine Artist magazine.
