ROCHESTER — Two Rochester teenagers were arrested after allegedly stealing items from unlocked vehicles in Fulton County.

Stephen Daniel Hernandez, 18, 200 W. 5th St., Rochester, is charged with theft of a firearm, a level 5 felony; two counts of theft, both class A misdemeanors; and unauthorized entry of a vehicle, a class B misdemeanor.

Kirsta Sky Cheesman, 19, 200 W. 5th St., Rochester, is charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 25, a Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputy took three theft reports near Rochester Community High School. All of the thefts occurred in unlocked vehicles. One person reported a firearm in his vehicle was stolen.

According to court documents, a second person said her Kate Spade purse containing several credit cards was stolen from her vehicle. She said an individual working at Beacon Credit Union contacted her about one of her debit cards being found near their ATM.

Officers watched surveillance footage from the bank and found Cheesman was driving the suspect vehicle near the ATM. The woman said three transactions totaling over $300 were made on one of her cards, with one of them involving a Cash App transfer to Cheesman.

The deputy later found Cheesman’s vehicle and pulled it over. Cheesman was driving at the time and Hernandez was a front seat passenger. Hernandez said he had weapons on him and officers found the stolen firearm on his person.

Cheesman has a pretrial conference at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 3, in Fulton County.
