WARSAW — Summer Reading at Warsaw Community Public Library is back, and we couldn’t be more excited. Kicking off on Monday, June 3, and running through Wednesday, July 31, this year’s program is going to be a grand adventure, no matter your age. We have something for everyone: kids through fifth grade, teens entering sixth through 12th grades, and adults. It’s time to dive into a summer of stories, adventures and community spirit.

Last year, our community came together to surpass our goal of reading 4 million pages, logging an incredible 4.7 million pages. This year, we’re setting the bar even higher, challenging ourselves to reach 5 million pages. It’s a bold goal, but we believe that with everyone’s participation, we can achieve it.

If you weren’t thinking of participating because you don’t consider yourself much of a reader, think again. There are lots of ways to join in.

Read to your kids. Every page of those beloved picture books counts for your reading as well.

Listen to audiobooks. Read with your ears rather than your eyes and swap listening minutes for pages (75 minutes equals 75 pages). It’s that easy.

But the fun doesn’t stop at reading. Summer Reading is packed with activities that earn you grand prize tickets. Teens and adults can enjoy activity packets filled with coloring pages, word searches and more that can be done at home, or try our in-person activities like carnival games and scavenger hunts. Each completed activity brings you closer to the chance of winning one of our awesome prizes.

And speaking of prizes, thanks to generous donations from over 30 local businesses and organizations, we have incredible rewards waiting for you. By logging pages (adults earn a ticket for every 500 pages, teens for every 300 and kids for every 200) and participating in activities, you can rack up tickets for the grand prize drawings.

Last summer, we had 2,028 participants. This year, along with our increased page goal, let’s see if we can top that number. Whether you’re a returning participant or new to the challenge, we’d love to have you join us this summer.

So, are you up for the challenge? Let’s make this summer unforgettable. Stop by Warsaw Community Public Library to sign up, get more information and start logging those pages. Together, let’s read our way to a record-breaking summer.
