SILVER LAKE — The weather on Saturday, June 8, was ideal for the Silver Lake Days Tractor Show, sponsored by Silver Lake Agri Center.

Beginning at 8 a.m. tractors and trailers started pulling into the show lot located east of town on SR 14. Judging started promptly at 10 a.m. John Deere, Farmall, Oliver and Allis Chalmer tractors were all represented well at the show.

The Best of Show award was presented to James Peden from North Manchester for his restored 1970 Oliver 1855.

Winning the Oldest Tractor award, as well as the Furthest Traveled, was Kevin Hesser. Hesser entered a 1936 John Deere B that has been in his family since it rolled off the factory line. Hesser spoke proudly of the heritage of the tractor and how much the members of his family value it.

The Echoes of the Past will have tractors on display, as well as other daily activities, during the Kosciusko County Fair beginning July 7. Visit the Antique Village at the fairgrounds to view the tractors, observe live sawmill demonstrations, taste tractor churned ice cream and more.
