Aquatic Creatures, Kids Meet At Critter Encounters

WINONA LAKE — The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams is inviting all families to make a splash at its summer program called Critter Encounters.

Three free events will be held, featuring fish, a mudpuppy and turtles.

Families can dive into the world of fish on Friday, June 14, meet a mudpuppy on Friday, June 28, and travel to the world of turtles on Friday, July 19, all from 9:30-11 a.m.

Participants will get to do hands-on activities such as:

  • Themed games
  • Story time
  • Critter creations
  • Interacting with the animals

 

Three story times will take place at each event, at 9:40, 10:10 and 10:40. Participants also can enjoy snacks and a behind-the-scenes experience with the aquatic creatures in the aquarium lab.

Although animal lovers of all ages can enjoy Critter Encounters, the activities are geared toward elementary-age students.
