Claypool Man Passes Away After Motorcycle Wreck Near Burket

BURKET — A Claypool man has passed away after a motorcycle wreck northeast of Burket on Wednesday evening, June 12.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office press release, Charles D. Sanders, 35, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer.

The wreck occurred at 5:15 p.m. at SR 25 west of CR 600W.

The KCSO release stated that “emergency personnel arrived on scene and located a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Sanders.”

“Preliminary investigation determined that Sanders was traveling eastbound on SR 25 and for an unknown reason left the south side of the roadway and then came to rest down an embankment,” the release also said.

Also responding to the scene were the Burket Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Parkview Samaritan and Reichert & Knepp wrecker service.
