WARSAW — A Fort Wayne man was flown from an accident near Little Chapman Lake after accidentally being hit by a vehicle.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, emergency personnel responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Chapman Lake Drive, south of East CR 250N, Warsaw.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Destiny Weaver, 37, Fort Wayne, was driving a black 2015 Dodge Durango on Chapman Lake Drive. Destiny said a passenger in her vehicle, Daniel J. Weaver, 40, Fort Wayne, wanted to smoke a cigarette. When she pulled over, Daniel and another passenger had an altercation outside of the vehicle. For an unknown reason, Daniel fell down and Destiny told officers she did not know Daniel was in front of her vehicle when she started to drive forward and hit Daniel.

Three witnesses said they saw the altercation between Daniel and the unnamed passenger, and that Daniel fell down and was run over by Destiny.

Daniel was flown from the scene for head injuries but has since been released from the hospital.

Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
