More Information Released On Electrical Fire At Danco Medical

WARSAW — More information has been released on a Thursday morning electrical fire at the Danco Medical building on Executive Drive in Warsaw.

According to information from Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Fire Chief Joel Shilling and Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer Chris Francis, minimal environmental impact occurred. The majority of the runoff was treated by the City of Warsaw wastewater treatment plant.

The fire began around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, June 13, and substantial damage occurred within the facility. The fire was reported under control by 2:27 p.m., with crews departing at 5:08 p.m.

Responding agencies include Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Warsaw Police Department, Elkhart Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Team, Indiana Department of Emergency Management, Winona Lake Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, the City of Warsaw’s public works and wastewater utility, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Kosciusko County Health Department, Elkhart County Emergency Management, Burket Fire Department, and Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory.

The fire’s cause and origin remain under investigation.
