Plain Township Responds To Grass Fire

Plain Township Fire Department responded to a grass fire at 5132 N. 250E, Warsaw, at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.

Firefighter Tony Schilling corralled the homeowners’ pigs away from the fire. No humans or animals were harmed before the blaze was put out, leaving charred ground in its wake.

Firefighter Branden Allen said the fire was, “hardly noteworthy,” but that the department took it seriously given the hot weather.

“We don’t want to have to come back,” he said.

The grass fire left charred ground in its wake, but no one was injured.
