WARSAW — Rachel Marose said she wants “to make people smile” through her new Village Florist Shop.

The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for the business on Thursday, June 20, the day of its grand opening. It’s located at 111 E. Market St., Warsaw.

Marose was a floral designer at Martin’s Super Market in Warsaw and also ran a floral studio out of her home. She completed courses through Floral Design Institute in Portland, Ore.

Marose wanted to open a shop “for several years.” She does flowers for a variety of occasions.

“I’m getting into weddings and events, also funerals,” she said. “I’ve got some grab-and-go stuff and then I’ve also got the orders that we do.”

The Village Florist Shop also has gift items.

“I’ve got three different types of chocolate, two different companies for candles and just lots of gift items,” said Marose.

She and her husband Kelly Marose run the business, with three employees helping.

“I just want to make people happy,” she said regarding customers.

People may call (574) 373-6045 or check out Village Florist Shop LLC on Facebook for more information. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
