ROCHESTER — A Rochester man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a man to the point where he was taken to a South Bend hospital for his injuries.

Andrew James Isley, 32, 1517 Bancroft Ave., Rochester, is charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony.

On June 8, a Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a battery report at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a man who had facial injuries. The man said he was asleep when Isley began battering him.

According to court documents, the man said as a result of the battery, he could not see out of his left eye, which was swollen shut. The man sustained multiple facial and nasal fractures and was eventually taken to a hospital in South Bend due to the severity of his injuries.

He told officers he believed Isley used a weapon of some kind to hit him, but that he was unsure why Isley battered him.

Isley was booked in the Fulton County Jail on June 18.
