South Bend Woman Arrested For Driving As Habitual Traffic Violator

WARSAW — A South Bend woman was arrested in Warsaw for allegedly driving a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator.

Latrice J. Burnett, 38, South Bend, is charged with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, a level 6 felony.

On May 15, a Warsaw Police officer received a report about a black Jeep Cherokee traveling on Fisher Avenue. The Jeep’s registered owner, later identified as Burnett, was listed as a habitual traffic violator.

According to court documents, the officer confirmed Burnett’s driver’s license status was a habitual traffic violator, with a five-year suspension in effect until April 2026. The officer pulled the Jeep over and identified Burnett as its driver.

Burnett admitted to recently bonding out of jail in a different county for driving as a habitual traffic violator.

Burnett has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
