NORTH WEBSTER — A Pierceton man was recently arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence.
Joshua Aaron Stutzman, 46, 252 EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton, is charged with operating a vehicle with an ACE equivalent to at least 0.08 but less than 0.15 and violation of driving conditions, both class C misdemeanors; and operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
On June 15, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling on SR 13, north of North Webster, when he saw a vehicle traveling 67 mph in a 55-mph zone. The deputy pulled the vehicle over and identified Stutzman as the driver.
According to court documents, the deputy learned Stutzman had a conditional driver’s license requiring an interlock device. The vehicle Stutzman was driving was not equipped with an interlock device. Stutzman was also allegedly exhibiting physical signs of intoxication. A certified chemical breath test showed a 0.12% BrAC for Stutzman.
Stutzman’s specialized driving privilege states that Stutzman must operate a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device through August 2025.
Stutzman was previously convicted of OWI in Kosciusko County in March 2018.
Stutzman has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
