News Release
SYRACUSE — Bring pet food to the Syracuse Public Library for local animal rescues during Globe-Trotting Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5. Children will learn about Africa while making cat toys, which they can take home to their feline friends or donate to local shelters.
Fourth Of July Closing
Syracuse Public Library will close on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. While the library is closed, patrons can enjoy its digital resources: Libby and Hoopla. These free apps allow users to access hundreds of digital e-books, audiobooks, magazines and more.
Children Programs
Younger children can attend storytime at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, in the downstairs meeting room. Rebekah Sceniak will read picture books and share facts about Africa. Children will also make an elephant craft.
Teen Programs
Teens can bring books to swap from 2-3 p.m. Monday, July 1, in the Syracuse Public Library’s Rosalyn Jones Room. Participants can also select a favorite library book to swap with others.
Registration is live for the next teen creativity club project — a painted bamboo mug. This program occurs from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the downstairs meeting room. Teens can register at https://bit.ly/4ciBenv or ask a librarian to register them.
Knit And Crochet
Adults can learn how to do the broomstick lace crochet stitch during the next knit and crochet club meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the library’s upstairs sitting area. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their latest fiber arts project to work on. While named the knit and crochet club, other fiber artists, including cross stitchers and embroiders, are welcome to join this relaxing hour of creativity.
