Capt. Chad Fleming To Speak At FreedomSystem.Org’s Remember Event, May 18

News Release

ELKHART — Time is running out to purchase tickets for FreedomSystem.Org’s annual Remember event. The deadline to purchase tickets is Saturday, May 11.

This fundraiser is how FreedomSystem.Org funds its programs such as its mountain bike program and career building programs as well as starting new programs each year to help military veterans. FreedomSystem.Org’s mission is to help veterans, their families and their employers bridge the gap between military veterans and the civilian world.

The “Remember!” event creates an excellent time for the community to share its experiences with veterans, creating a way to show its support. Oftentimes, veterans do no feel the gratitude of the public because they do not see it. All funds raised from the event are used to help Elkhart County veterans.

This year FreedomSystem.Org is honored to host Capt. Chad Fleming. Fleming is the first soldier to become an amputee and return to the combat zone. Fleming’s story is quite unique and FreedomSystem.Org is very excited to have him attend the “Remember!” event and share his story. Fleming was invited to be this year’s speaker after several members of the FreedomSystem.Org board heard him speak at other venues. “His story is so inspiring and the way he can relate to us all is just amazing. I can’t wait to hear him speak again,” said Sarah Holmes, event director for FreedomSystem.Org.

Retired U.S. Army Captain, Chad Fleming is a highly decorated war hero who deployed 5 times after becoming an amputee. He will be this year’s speaker at FreedomSystem.Org’s annual Remember event.

In addition to Fleming, FreedomSystem.Org has the added bonus of having Casey Hendrickson and Lauren Zeugner as the evening’s Masters of Ceremonies. Kenny Holmes, FreedomSystem.Org’s president and founder will provide a quick update on the organization’s various programs.

The evening will include music by Sam Brown as well as Doobieus. There will be a silent auction, raffles as well as several gun drawings.

The event will be held from 5 -10 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at the Northern Indiana Event Center, 21565 Executive Parkway, Elkhart.
