Warsaw Teenager Arrested For Intimidation, Domestic Battery

Staff Report

WARSAW — A Warsaw teenager was recently arrested for allegedly using a large kitchen knife to threaten two people.

Ivan Jesus Lopez, 18, 1407 Green Hill Drive, Warsaw, is charged with two counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon, both level 5 felonies; domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 1, a Warsaw Police officer responded to an altercation at a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke with a man who had lacerations below his left eye, and blood in his nose and on his earlobe.

According to court documents, the man said he was cleaning out a refrigerator when Lopez started a physical altercation with him. Lopez hit the man’s head several times and displayed a large kitchen knife on his hip during the incident.

A woman in the residence saw Lopez display a large kitchen knife, with the blade outward toward her.

Lopez told the officer the man threw his food away and attempted to stop him. He said the man hit his knee and pulled his hair. Lopez also said the woman had the knife and threatened to kill him.

The officer noticed Lopez did not have any red marks or apparent injuries to his face, and that Lopez’s story changed from question to question.

Lopez has already been arrested and released on bond. A photo of Lopez was unavailable for publication.
