LEESBURG — First responders extricated a driver from a partially submerged vehicle following a single vehicle accident.

At approximately 1:58 a.m. Saturday, May 11, Tippecanoe Township Fire and EMS were dispatched for a single vehicle accident at 5690 E. CR 500N, Leesburg, near the Grassy Creek public access site.

According to Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory Battalion Chief Cody Manges, first responders discovered a vehicle had left the road and was partially submerged in Grassy Creek. Manges said the driver was still in the vehicle and couldn’t get out. Firefighters performed a “quick entry” and helped the driver get out, he said.
