ROCHESTER — A Rochester woman was recently arrested for allegedly scamming multiple people in Fulton County.

Danielle Lynn Longmire, 24, 117 E. 10th St., Rochester, is charged with counterfeiting, two counts of fraud, and five counts of theft with a prior conviction, all level 6 felonies.

In early May, the Rochester Police Department received multiple reports regarding Longmire scamming people.

According to court documents, Longmire had been going door-to-door with three children, telling people they were selling items for a fundraiser. It was later determined there was no fundraiser and that Longmire was believed to be keeping the money she received.

The initial report officers received stated Longmire had possibly changed the amount on a check that one victim wrote to her. Longmire also stole the victim’s checkbook and attempted to cash additional checks in the victim’s name.

The victim told officers she wrote Longmire a check for $18, but that Longmire attempted to cash it for $260. Officers also obtained surveillance footage of Longmire attempting to cash checks at the bank.

Officers were informed that there were six other individuals who reported buying fundraiser items from Longmire. One of the individuals found out Longmire’s “fundraiser” was fraudulent after seeing a social media post by someone warning the community about Longmire’s acts.

One victim gave Longmire and the children $42 in cash, and another gave $48 in cash. A third individual gave Longmire a check for $25 and a fourth person gave Longmire $40 in cash. A fifth person gave $25 in cash, and a sixth paid $40 in cash.

All of the victims were described as “extremely irritated” by the theft, stating Longmire was manipulating the children into being involved.

Officers also determined none of the schools the three children were enrolled in were currently holding fundraisers.

In an interview with police on May 20, Longmire said she received fundraiser forms from one of the children about four weeks ago. She estimated they sold items to about 60 to 70 people.

Longmire allegedly came up with multiple excuses as to what the fundraiser was for.

Longmire has a prior theft conviction in Fulton County from October 2023.

Longmire was booked in the Fulton County Jail on May 20.
