WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees approved MKM architecture + design as the firm handling the library’s feasibility study during a June 10 board meeting.

WCPL Director Heather Barron said the Fort Wayne-based firm would evaluate the library’s current facility and a potential new location. As the study takes place, WCPL staff will gather community input to determine if the current building should be renovated or if the library should be moved to a new area.

“This will be a very involved, very public process,” said Barron.

The study would last for four to six months.

“We reviewed lots of information and piles of material, and they’re the clear favorite,” said WCPL Board Member Tim Keyes about MKM.

In other business, the board learned the Friends of the Library will be partnering with Culver’s for a fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 17. The fundraiser will only take place at the Parker Street location in Warsaw. A portion of the restaurant’s sales during this timeframe will be donated to help the library.

The board also:

  • Approved updates to the board’s by-laws.
  • Approved a new photography and videography policy.

WCPL’s Board of Trustees’ next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, July 8.
